In 2003, a dermatocosmetology training course was established in the “Marjani” clinic, which is successfully functioning till nowadays.

The course is conducted individually and includes theoretical and practical training;

Persons with higher, incomplete higher and secondary medical education will be admitted to the courses;

The course is led by the center’s chief physician, prof. Nata Kiladze;

The theoretical and practical part of the training process is led by the doctors of Marjani Clinic;

Practical training is taking place at the base of Marjani Clinic;

The practical part involves the student performing all dermatocosmetological procedures provided by the program;

Course fee – equivalent of 1000 dollars in GEL;

The duration of the course depends on the schedule chosen by the student (one or two months on average); A certificate is issued upon completion of the course.

The theoretical part of the training course involves the study of the main issues of dermatology and dermatocosmetology.

  1. Skin morphology, physiology and histopathology. Skin appendages. Skin innervations, blood supply, lymphatic system, local peculiarities
  2. Skin aging: Natural aging of the skin, photo aging, free-radical theory of aging
  3. Topical treatment in dermatology: Trans-epidermal  barrier and  role of vehicle in topical drug delivery. Active ingredients, soft, forms, fillers, implants, other active components. Retinoids, anti-androgens, vitamins and etc.
  4. Unexpected events:  contact reactions, problems of allergy, postinflammatory pigmentation, complication of tattooing and piercing
  5. Rejuvenation – molecular aspects and mechanism of cutaneous aging
  6. Electro surgery in dermatology: main principles, methods, possibilities, results
  7. Chemical peeling: indications, methods, substances and complications and results
  8. Sun and photo protection: malignant lesions induced by sun exposure, photo dermatoses, sunscreens, photo allergic test procedure, artificial and  sunless tanning
  9. Disorders of sebaceous glands: seborrhea, acne and methods of treatment, rosacea and perioral dermatitis, methods of treatment
  10. Disorders of sweat glands: hyper- hypo-and dyshydrosis. Manifestations and methods of treatment
  11. Scarring diseases and conditions  –  clinical manifestation and treatment
  12. Cutaneous viral diseases: clinical varieties, manifestations, epidemiology diagnostics and treatment
  13. Naevi, melanoma, benign tumors and non-melanoma skin cancer: classification, clinical manifestations, possibilities of treatment
  14. Disorders of pigment and pigmented skin: Vitiligo, Melasma. Non-melanin pigment disorders
  15. Skin and systemic diseases and reactive disorders: endocrine abnormality  disorders of gastrointestinal tract, drug eruptions
  16. Psychological disorders of the skin: Appropriate reactions, exacerbation of skin diseases by emotional factor, phobias, skin, disorders with a psychological component
  17. Disorders of the hair and scalp: Hair structure. Constitutional hirsutism. Telogen and anagen effluvium. Different varieties of hair loss. Skin disorders, affecting scalp and hair
  18. Disorders of the nails: Nail infection and inflammatory disorders, nail trauma,  conditions surrounding the nails, congenital disorders
