Skin Bacterioscopic Examination – Demodex, scabies, fungal diseases, and others.

Skin Parasitic and Fungal Diseases are caused by any living organism that resides on another organism, feeds off it, and parasitizes the skin.

Scabies – A contagious parasitic disease in humans characterized by itching; it is caused by the scabies mite. The incubation period is approximately 1 – 2 weeks.

Demodicosis – A parasitic skin disease caused by a conditionally pathogenic skin mite. Demodicosis often affects the eyelids, nose, cheeks, lips, and eventually the hairy part of the head. The favorable environment for Demodex is the skin oil produced by the sebaceous glands, where the mite feeds and reproduces.

Fungal Diseases – The number of fungi pathogenic to humans is increasing day by day. There are around 300 species of such fungi, each with its clinically distinctive presentation. A person can be infected by one type of fungus or multiple types simultaneously. The diagnosis of fungal disease is based on the clinical presentation and bacterioscopic laboratory examination, which involves microscopic examination of a sample taken from the affected area.
